RiverWolves Suffer 5-1 Loss to the North Iowa Bulls

(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the North Iowa Bulls who have a strong record of 15-0 thus far into the young 2017-2018 season on Friday, November 24.  This was the first matchup between the two teams for the 2017-2018 season, also this was the first game of a two-game series, both games being played at Marathon Park Ice Arena.

The RiverWolves came into Friday’s game with a two-game winning streak after the team got their first two wins as an NA3HL franchise last weekend.  North Iowa was able to get the go-ahead goal at the end of the first period, the Bulls then scored two more unanswered in the second before the RiverWolves were able to get on the board.  Owen Routheut, native of Feversham, Ontario notched his fourth goal of the year at the 15:35 mark of the second period, assisting on the lone goal was Garrett Alton and Connor Moore.  North Iowa again was able to tack on two more goals in the third period, for a 5-1 final.  In goal for Wausau was Henry Baribeau who stopped 50 of 55 shots on the evening.

The Wausau RiverWolves will continue their homestand tomorrow Saturday, November 25th as they host the North Iowa Bulls for game two at Marathon Park Ice Arena. Puck drops at 7pm as the RiverWolves host the Triq’s Family 4 Pack promotional night.
