RiverWolves Shut-Out Evansville 6-0

(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the Evansville Thunderbirds at Marathon Park Ice Arena Friday Night.  This was the first game of a two game weekend series, also it was the first matchup between the RiverWolves and Thunderbirds this season.

The Wausau RiverWolves were able to capture their first win of the 2017-2018 season.  Henry Baribeau, native of Hudson, Wisconsin was able to stop all 28 shots that he faced, making this his first career junior hockey win and shutout.  The RiverWolves were able to get the scoring started in the second period.  Matt Irwin scored at the 3:23 mark and again at the 8:43 mark of the second, notching his 6th and 7th goals of the season.  Owen Routheut and Tristan Slot were also able to get on the score sheet in the second period.  Two goals were scored in the 3rd period by the RiverWolves, one at the 4:57 mark by Tristan Slot and another at the 6:07 mark, coming from Connor Moore.

The Wausau RiverWolves will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday November 18th as they host the Evansville Thunderbirds for game two of the weekend series.
