RiverWolves add local flavor in New Assistant Coach

(Wausau, WI)- Jordan Schmidt joins the Wausau River Wolves in their inaugural season as the Associate Head Coach after previously coaching with the Wausau West Warriors in the WIAA.

Schmidt started his coaching career with the Wausau Warjacks youth hockey program in 2009, where he was the Co-Head Coach for two youth teams. After Schmidt’s two-year stint as a youth coach, he moved onto the high school level. In October of 2011, Schmidt began coaching with Mosinee High School as the Varsity Assistant and was shortly promoted to Head Varsity Hockey Coach in 2013. After becoming the youngest Head Coach at age 21, Schmidt lead the Indians to a record of 27-16-4 in two seasons, along with a third place finish and a second place finish in the conference.

After graduating college in 2014 with a degree in Health Promotion and Wellness from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, Schmidt moved and began to coach his alma mater, the Wausau West Warriors. Jordan was appointed Assistant Varsity Head Coach, and remained with the Warriors for two seasons, winning back to back Conference Titles, compiling a 40-6-2 record and making a state appearance this last season. When he’s not on the ice, Jordan enjoys golfing, spending time on the lake, and being outdoors with family and friends.
