Weekend Preview vs West Bend

(WAUSAU, WI)- The Cyclones have an away and home series against West Bend Power this weekend. Puck drops at 7:30pm in West Bend on Friday night and 7:10pm at Marathon Park on Saturday night. Wausau enters the weekend with a 29-7-0-1 record, which puts us in first place in the Central Division. West Bend enters the weekend with a 26-9-1-2 record, which puts them in second place in the Central Division. Wausau has a four-point lead in the standings for first place with just 10 regular season games remaining. Six of the games will be versus West Bend. 

What to Watch For

Wausau forward Matthew Mahoney recently joined the Cyclones after being traded from the St. Louis Jr. Blues. Mahoney had 11 goals and nine assists with St. Louis. Mahoney had two assists against Willmar this past weekend. Connor Dvorak had quite the weekend against Willmar scoring three goals and providing two assists. Dvorak now has 21 goals and 33 assists in 37 games, which leads the team in points and is 4th in the league for forwards. Watch for the Clones to show their scoring punch this weekend as they are averaging 4.56 goals per game, meanwhile West Bend averages 3.36 goals per game.

Between the Pipes

Wausau is expected to start Collin Lemanski in net Friday. Lemanski has a 2.21 GAA and .937 save percentage in 23 games. His record is currently 18-4-0-1 this year and the 18 wins has him at 2nd in the league. Tanner Bonjernoor is expected to start Saturday. Bonjernoor has a save percentage of .909 and 2.58 GAA.
