(WAUSAU, WI)- Wausau took care of business last weekend versus West Bend giving them the opportunity to win back-to-back division titles with just five regular season games remaining. Wausau 29-10-2-1 (61 points) will play host to the Peoria Mustangs 10-30-0-0 (20 points) for the first time since November 16th. Heading into the weekend Wausau leads the season series six games to none. Puck drops at 7:10pm on Friday and Saturday on NAHLTV. Wausau can clinch the number 2 seed in the Division Semifinal of the NA3HL Playoffs over Rochester this weekend with a pair of wins over Peoria and a Rochester regulation loss to St. Louis. That would mean the Cyclones would have home ice advantage in the Division Semifinal versus Rochester/Wisconsin.
Player to Watch
Cyclones forward Owen Gohm has played some excellent hockey over his last four games. Gohm has netted two goals and contributed one assist. His goal Friday versus West Bend laid the foundation for a successful weekend on home ice. Owen will look to repeat his early season success versus Peoria having netted a hat-trick at Peoria back on September 14th.
Between the Pipes
Wausau is expected to start Dereck Namlick and Tanner Bonjernoor in net this weekend. Bonjernoor has a 2.37 GAA and .920 save percentage in 26 games. Namlick sports a 2.91 GAA and .907 save percentage.
