(WAUSAU, WI) – Wausau hits the road this weekend in the need of a bounce back weekend sweep in Peoria. The Clones currently lead the season series 3-1. Wausau enters the weekend 16-12-1-0 (fourth place) and the Mustangs currently hold a 7-20-2-0 record (last place). Wausau is currently just two points out of second place in the division with 18 games remaining in the regular season. Twelve of the eighteen games will be played at Marathon Park. This weekend puck drops at 7pm on Friday and 6pm Saturday on NAHLTV.
What to Watch For
Forward Elijah Von Gunten had arguably his best week in a Cyclone uniform. Von Gunten scored three goals versus West Bend and contributed an assist in a home win versus Rochester. His five power play goals is second on the team. Look for a big second half of the season from Von Gunten as he continues his development.
Between the Pipes
Wausau is projected to split time between Brady Faille and Brody Kunst in net this weekend. Faille has a 2.54 GAA in 15 games. Kunst has a 2.64 GAA in seven games with a .924 save percentage.
