Joel Anderson selected in NAHL Draft

Wausau, WI – The Wausau Cyclones are excited to announce that defensemen Joel Anderson was selected during the 2026 NAHL draft yesterday by the Springfield Jr. Blues in the 17th round. He netted 10 goals and contributed 31 assists in 47 games last season. Anderson had nine multiple point games and was 11th in points among all NA3HL defenseman. The selection will give Anderson the opportunity to make the Jr. Blues 2026-27 roster through participating in their training camp later this summer.

“We were very pleased to see Joel get taken in the NAHL Draft by Springfield. Joel came to Wausau last season and took off as a first-year player. He played big minutes, in big situations, ran our power play and led all defenseman in scoring with the Cyclones. Joel’s commitment, tenacity, and adaptability earned him the opportunity to be drafted, and we are very proud of him,” stated Head Coach Nathan Oystrick.
