Wausau, WI – The Cyclones have signed forward Bryton Thaxton to 2026-27 season tender agreement. Thaxton, a native of Indian River, Michigan comes to Wausau after playing for the Soo Indians 18U AAA program. Last season he put up 15 goals and had 12 assists in 44 games. During his high school career at Gaylord High from 2021-2024 he netted 58 goals and had 31 assists in 63 games.
“Bryton is a great skater, with elite speed. He creates chances for himself and his teammates with his vision, puck skills, and deception. He hangs onto pucks in the O-zone and sees the ice extremely well, while having a great shot with a very quick release. His high-energy style, combined with his hockey IQ, and willingness to go to the hard areas of the ice will make him a player to watch in Wausau and we are ecstatic that he chose to be a Cyclone,” stated Head Coach/GM of Hockey Operations Nathan Oystrick.
