Weekend Preview 1/16-1/17

(WAUSAU, WI) – Wausau has a unique weekend on tap as they will face two different opponents in West Bend Power and Wisconsin Woodsmen. Wausau enters the weekend 18-12-1-0 (tied 2nd place), the Power are 29-2-1-1 (1st place) and Woodsmen are 12-18-2-1 (5th place). Wausau is currently in a three-way tie with Rochester and St. Louis at 37 points for 2nd place. Beginning this weekend the Clones will play 12 of their final 16 games on home ice as they seek to earn home ice advantage in the 1st round of the NA3HL playoffs. This weekend, puck drops at 7:30pm on Friday at Kettle Moraine Ice Center and 7:10pm Saturday from Marathon Park on NAHLTV.

What to Watch For

Forward Jackson Schroeder’s huge weekend at St. Louis with three goals and two assists. Prior to that he just three assists in five games, which for him was a step down from his huge output he has provided his season. The five-point weekend expanded his team leading point total to ten over forward Eiji Hofmann. Wausau will need a massive night if it wants to upset West Bend Friday and earn their first win in the season series to date.

Between the Pipes

Wausau is projected to split time between Brady Faille and Tanner Bonjernoor t in net this weekend. Faille has a 2.50 GAA in 16 games. Bonjernoor has a 3.66 GAA in 13 games with a .888 save percentage.
