Wausau signs defenseman from North Dakota

May 16, 2025

Wausau, WI – The Cyclones have signed defenseman Joel Anderson from Bismarck, North Dakota to 2025-26 season tender agreement. Anderson spent his high school hockey career with Bismarck Legacy High School. During his senior season he scored 4 goals and had 12 assists in 23 games while receiving All-Conference honors.

“Joel was a standout player for Bismarck Legacy High. His offensive skill on the back end will be a major help for us. His hockey IQ and making a good first pass will accelerate our offense and provide scoring in big ways. We were lucky enough to get him signed before he showed all of his pure talent at the Columbus NAHL Showcase, where he was one of the most impressive players there. We are thrilled to have Joel as a Cyclone,” stated Head Coach/GM of Hockey Operations Nathan Oystrick.
