(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the Wisconsin Whalers from Oregon, Wisconsin at Marathon Park on Friday.  The Whalers currently stand in 3rd place and the RiverWolves are two points back from 4th in the Central Division.

Ron Rentner, native of Chicago, Illinois got the scoring started for the RiverWolves at the 2:31 mark of the 1st period.  Wausau then added three goals to the score sheet in the 2nd period.  Connor Moore was able to net two goals in the period, one coming at the 3:32 mark and his second coming at the 7:02 mark.  Rentner again got on the score sheet with his second goal of the game at the 19:39 mark in the 2nd.  No goals came in the 3rd period for the RIverWolves.  Matt Irwin was able to notch his team high 13th goal in the overtime period with his goal coming just 15 seconds into extra time.  Henry Baribeau picked up the win for the RiverWolves stopping 57 shots.

The Wausau RiverWolves next set of games will be held at the Schwan Super Rink for the NA3HL Showcase.  The RiverWolves will play Dec. 17th against the Louisiana Drillers, Dec. 18th against the Southern Tier Express and Dec. 19th vs. the Toledo Cherokee.  The next home game at Marathon Park will be after Christmas, December 29th vs. the Peoria Mustangs for a 7 p.m. puck drop!
