(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the Wisconsin Whalers for the second time this weekend at Marathon Park. The RiverWolves came into Sundays game with a win coming from Fridays game and a loss last night coming from the La Crosse Freeze.

Wausau started the night off with the first goal coming from Connor Moore at the 5:30 mark in the first period.  Two more RiverWolves got on the board before the 1st intermission, Austin Burgener at the 8:53 mark and then Garret Alton’s goal came at the 15:45 mark.  Alton was able to get his second goal of the game and his 4th of the season at the 10:38 mark, rounding out scoring for the RiverWolves in the 2nd.

Matt Irwin scored Wausau’s lone goal in the 3rd period at the 13:17 mark.  Newly acquired netminder Christian Sanzottera from St. Louis, Missouri got his first start tonight stopping 66 shots.

The Wausau RiverWolves next home game is on Friday December 15th, as the Wisconsin Whalers come back to Marathon Park for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
