(Wausau, WI) – The Wausau Cyclones are pleased to announce that Cyclone forwards Ricky Nelson, Gabe Randel and Hayden Shoemake have been named NA3HL Top Prospects. The Top Prospects Tournament will be held from February 6-7, 2023, at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament is played in conjunction with the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. The event is one of the most highly scouted events of its kind, with hundreds of junior, NCAA and NHL again expected in attendance this season.

Ricky Nelson has contributed 13 goals and 18 assists in 33 games this season. His 13 goals lead the team. The native of Edina, Minnesota has been playing at an extremely high level since the holiday break. Nelson had six goals and four assists in those eight games. Gabe Randel has been another bright spot on the Cyclones 2022-23 roster. Randel has netted 9 goals and 21 assists, which ranks second on the team in total points. Hayden Shoemake is the final representative for Wausau at the Top Prospects Tournament. Shoemake currently ranks 3rd on the team with 11 goals and has contributed 13 assists.
