(WAUSAU, WI)- The Cyclones and Tradesmen will begin their season series battle Friday as they fight for the right to hoist the I-39 Cup. The I-39 Cup will go to the team that wins the season series between the two teams. Wausau is looking for a bounce back weekend after a pair of losses on the home ice last weekend. After leading 3-1 with 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd period Friday night, Wausau was outscored six to one over the next 62 minutes of play versus Milwaukee. The Cyclones are currently in 5th place in Central Division standings with at 4-4-2-0 record. Oregon enters the weekend 4 points clear of Wausau with a 6-2-1-1 record.

What to Watch For

Look for early success to lead to wins this weekend. The Cyclones are 3-1-0-0 when they score first this season. Watch for the Cyclones to play a more disciplined style of play this weekend after a weekend largely spent in the sin bin.

The Tradesmen are led by forward Bryce Stensrud and Jordan Larkee. Both players have 9 points in 10 games played.

Between the Pipes

Wausau is expected to split the series between Mitch Miscevich and Ryan Burke. Miscevich currently has a 3.61 GAA and .888 save percentage. Burke enters the weekend with a 2.76 GAA and .915 save percentage.
