(WAUSAU, WI) – Wausau will be seeking a bounce back weekend as they welcome the Minnesota Wilderness to Marathon Park after struggling to put together an offensive attack in Rochester. Wausau enters the weekend 21-15-1-0 (tied 2nd place) and Minnesota is 9-27-0-0, which brings up the rear in the West Division. The Clones will play nine of their last ten games on home ice beginning Friday night. Meanwhile, the teams Wausau is fighting with for home ice advantage in the playoffs Rochester and St. Louis will play just four of their last ten games in their home barns. This weekend puck drops at 7:10pm both Friday and Saturday from Marathon Park on NAHLTV.
What to Watch For
The playoff clinching scenario for Wausau is very similar to last week. Wausau has an opportunity to clinch their 3rd consecutive playoff appearance as early as Friday night with a Clones win and a Woodsmen loss in regulation versus St. Louis. If the Woodsmen win Friday, Wausau could still clinch on Saturday night with win versus Minnesota.
Between the Pipes
Wausau is projected to split time between Brady Faille and Brody Kunst in net this weekend. Faille has a 2.51 GAA in 18 games. Kunst has a 2.54 GAA in eight games with a .928 save percentage.
