Clones host St. Louis this weekend

(WAUSAU, WI) – After clinching a playoff spot last weekend the Clones will now turn their attention into another regular season goal of earning home ice advantage in the 1st round of the NA3HL playoffs. This weekend’s series versus St. Louis will have a lot in determining not only that, but who matches up with who during the playoffs.  Wausau enters the weekend 23-15-1-0 (tied 2nd place) and St. Louis is 21-16-2-0, which puts them 4th place but, just three points behind Wausau.  This weekend puck drops at 7:10pm both Friday and Saturday from Marathon Park on NAHLTV.

What to Watch For

Forward Maxsim Salienko has been one of the most productive offensive players for Wausau since January 3rd. In 12 games he has been averaging over a point per game with 15 total points. His 12 games previous to that from November 21st to December 30th he had just 3 total points. Salienko and his teammates will look to take advantage of a St. Louis squad that ranks 19th in goals allowed of the 38 NA3HL teams.

Between the Pipes

Wausau is projected to split time between Brady Faille and Tanner Bonjernoor in net this weekend. Faille has a 2.45 GAA in 19 games. Faille is the 13th ranked goalie in GAA among 66 qualified goalies, and his save percentage is ranked 10th. Bonjernoor has a 3.52 GAA in 16 games with a .900 save percentage. His save percentage ranks 34th and is 38th in GAA the league’s 66 qualified goalies.

Next weekend Wausau will take on West Bend in a home and home series. Friday, February 20th game at Marathon Park will allow fans to enjoy $2 Beer. Puck drops at 7:10pm.
