(WAUSAU, WI)- The RiverWolves are wrapping up their season tonight with their fan appreciation game against the Peoria Mustangs. Game time is set for 7:10 pm at Marathon Park. The Mustangs are currently 2nd in the central division and have clinched their spot in the playoffs. The RiverWolves will be honoring their five age out players who will be competing in their final junior game. The team will also be honoring their families, and the billet families who have hosted players all year long.

What to Watch For

Even though the team record this season was disappointing, several players had solid seasons individually and below is a recap of those performances. The RiverWolves point leaders for this season are Trey Bociek, Iron River, MI, with 19, Isaac Wickersheim, Antigo, WI, with 18, and Pavel Bakhtin, West Bloomfield, MI, with 18. The goal leaders are Wickersheim with 12, Ethan Cumming, St. Cloud, MN, with eight, and Tommy Raith, Winnetka, IL, with 7. The assist leaders for the RiverWolves are Bociek, with 13, Bakhtin, with 12, Nolan Gifford, Lino Lakes, MN, with 10, and Taylor Frerichs, Sioux City, IA, with 10.

The Mustangs currently boast a 28-8 record and are on a four-game win streak. Peoria is led by the duo of Ethan Chesney, of Elgin, IL, and Reid Lune, of Edwards, IL. Chesney has 16 goals and 16 assists in 37 games, and Lune has 11 goals and 18 assists in 31 games.

Between the Pipes

Caleb Sauer will start in net on Saturday. This season, Sauer has appeared in 19 games, and has a record of 4-12-1 as a starter. He has faced 794 shots and stopped 706 of them for a save percentage of 88.9%.

The Mustangs are expected to start Cole Walter net this weekend. Walter is a native of Rochester, MN, and has an 93.1% save percentage on the year.
