(WAUSAU, WI)- The RiverWolves are back home again this weekend for a three-game series against the St. Louis Jr. Blues. The game times are set for 7:10 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 3:10 pm on Sunday. The RiverWolves are currently 0-1 vs St. Louis, with the lone loss coming last time out at home with a final of 7-2. The RiverWolves will be looking to score early this weekend, as they have a 3-1 record when scoring first this season.

Big Time Trades

The RiverWolves acquired Pavel Bakhtin in a trade with the El Paso Rhinos and he had an immediate positive impact. Pavel is a native of West Bloomfield, MI, and played nine games with the Rhinos before coming to Wausau. Pavel was this week’s NA3HL Star of the Week last week after tallying two goals and three assists in his first three games with the RiverWolves. Bakhtin has three goals and six assists in 12 games total so far this year.

The St. Louis Jr. Blues are currently 4th in the Central Division. They boast a 7-10 record and are currently only three games back of Oregon. The Blues are led by Jared Bratton, of Arnold, MI. Bratton is currently averaging 0.65 points per game, with four goals and seven assists.

Between the Pipes

Joseph La Forge, native of Kenosha, and Caleb Sauer, from Waupun, WI, are expected to split time in goal this weekend for The RiverWolves. La Forge has turned back 447 of 504 shots so far this year for an 88.7% save percentage.

Sauer notched his first win for the RiverWolves last weekend, and he has turned back 100 of 118 shots for an 84.7% save percentage.

The Blues are expected to start a combination of Jeb Lindy and Owen Carlson in net this weekend. Carlson, from Esko, MN, has a 92.9% save percentage and was the NA3HL Star of the Week for the week of December 8th.

The RiverWolves have another three game stretch next week, with one game vs Peoria and two at Rochester. RiverWolves vs Mustangs will be a home game on Thursday at 7:10 pm.
