(WAUSAU, WI)- RiverWolves hockey is heading to the Land of Lincoln for a two game series against the Mustangs this weekend. The games will be held at the Owens Center on the 20th and 21st, with game times of 7:15 and 6:45 respectively. This is the first matchup between the two teams, and the RiverWolves will look to gain some ground in conference against the current 2nd  place Mustangs. The RiverWolves are coming off a 1-1 split against the Milwaukee Power and are looking to gain some traction heading into Thanksgiving weekend.

What to Watch For

RiverWolves forward Max Beste netted two goals vs the Milwaukee Power including the game winner in the two minutes of play last Friday. Beste is currently second in team scoring with 3 goals and 1 assist this season.

The Peoria Mustangs are looking to gain ground on the Central Division leader Rochester Grizzlies. Reid Lune, of Edwards, IL, leads the Mustangs with 9 points in 8 games, having 3 goals and 6 assists for 1.13 points per game. The Mustangs Goalie, Cole Walter, from Rochester, MN, was also named the Central Division Star of the Week, for the week of November 10th. Walter has a 92.3% save percentage.

Between the Pipes

Joseph La Forge, native of Kenosha, and Gunnar Snyder, of La Crosse are expected to share time in the net for this two-game series.  La Forge has turned back 214 of 236 shots so far this year for a 90.7% save percentage. Snyder has played in 28 games and has a 14-7 record as a starter with 7 shutouts.

Peoria is expected to start Cole Walter in net this weekend. Walter is a native of Rochester, MN.
