(WAUSAU, WI)- The RiverWolves host the Granite City Lumberjacks Friday and Saturday night at Marathon Park Ice Arena. Granite City swept Wausau back on November 1st and 2nd in Minnesota. Heading into Friday night’s contest Wausau currently stands in sixth place in the Central Division, while Granite City is 2 points out of first in the West Division.

What to Watch For

RiverWolves defenseman Jake Minch has been solid in the defensive zone since joining the team in late November. The Stevens Point native will look to extend his point streak to three games this evening.

The Lumberjacks are led by forward Carson Simon with 32 points and Bailey Sommers who has 31 total points. The Lumberjacks are coming off a 5-2 win Wednesday night versus Willmar.

In the Crease

Joseph La Forge, native of Kenosha, Wisconsin is expected to start in net for the RiverWolves.  He currently holds a 1-7-1 record with a goals against average of 6.63.  His save percentage is at .870.

The Lumberjacks are expected to have Nate Johnston start in net.  His record for the season is 12-0-0-2 and his save percentage is at .935.  His goals against average is at 1.54. Johnston picked up a shut-out win his last time out versus Alexandria on January 4th.

Wausau will wrap up their weekend series with Granite City Saturday night as the puck drops at 7:30pm from Marathon Park Ice Arena.
