(Wausau, WI) – Mitchel Idalski led the way Friday Night with two scores as the Wausau RiverWolves defeated the Peoria Mustangs 4-2.  Wausau came into the game with a 3-7 record while Peoria was 9-6-1.  Cale Bowman also had a big night as he assisted on three of the four goals for the RiverWolves.

In the first, Tanner Eskro opened the scoring for Wausau with a goal at 2:05 in the first period with help from Cale Bowman and Tyler Balcerak.  Ian McHenery answered for the Mustangs with a goal at 7:16. Hrebik scored his first goal of the season seven minutes later to put the RiverWolves back on top heading to the second period by a score of 2-1.

During the second, Idalski scored his first of the night 3:23 into the period to put the RiverWolves up 3-1.  The defense tightened up throughout the rest of the period as neither team scored the rest of the way. Jared Wisely of Peoria scored 9:27 in the third to cut the deficit in half 3-2.  Six minutes later Idalski scored his second goal of the game to put the game out of reach for the Mustangs.  Despite having over 20 more shots in the game, Peoria came short by a final score of 4-2 Friday night.

RiverWolves goaltender, Alexandr Gilev stopped 36 of 38 shots and brought home the victory for Wausau.  Jaden Gardner of Peoria stopped 22 of 26 and took the loss.
