WAUSAU, WI – Wausau hosts Central Division foe Wisconsin Whalers in a Saturday night match up at the Marathon Park Ice Arena. The RiverWolves come into the game with a (3-6-0) record, which puts them in sixth place in the central division. The Whalers enter Saturday’s game with a (5-8-0) record, which currently has them in fifth-place in the central.  The Whalers also enter the contest on a four-game losing streak.

RiverWolves skaters Rollie Carlson and Mitch Idalski have provided a bulk of the offensive fire power this season. Rollie Carlson enters the game with 15 total points, 3 goals and 12 assists.  Idalski comes in with 14 points and is currently the team’s leading goal scorer with 7 on the year.

For Wisconsin, Sam Hanson and Luke Hefty are their top point getters.  Hanson leads them with 25 points in nine games. Meanwhile, teammate Luke Hefty has 2 goals and 14 assists this season for the Whalers.

Alex Gilev is starting between the pipes for the RiverWolves. Gilev earned a Top 5 Play of the Week in the NA3HL this week with a tremendous save versus Milwaukee last Friday Night. He holds a save percentage of .898 and has a goals against average of 3.50.  It will likely be Misawa, Japan native Kai Tomita in net for the Whalers.  He has a 3-6 record and a .877 save percentage.

Following Saturday Night’s matchup the RiverWolves play a two-game series against Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 9 and 10 at 7:30pm.  The November 9th game is presented by GI Associates and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
