(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the Peoria Mustangs at Marathon Park Ice Arena.  This was the first game of a two-game weekend series, also it was the first matchup between the RiverWolves and Mustangs this season.

The Wausau RiverWolves were only able to get on the score sheet twice in tonight’s matchup, both goals coming in the second period, after trailing the first period 1-0.  At the 8:00 minute mark of the second, Janne Rukamp got Wausau’s first goal and then shortly after at the 12:29 mark Garrett Alton netted his 5th goal on the year.  The RiverWolves then gave up 5 unanswered goals to Peoria to end out the game.  In goal tonight for Wausau was Henry Baribeau who faced 66 shots and stopped 60.

The Wausau RiverWolves will be back in action tomorrow night again taking on the Peoria Mustangs at 7 p.m. for game two of the weekend series.
