The Wausau RiverWolves’ defense had a poor night, allowing the Wisconsin Whalers 27 shots throughout the game. The Wisconsin Whalers took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Drew Steines.

The Whalers Drew Steines did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Nick Rogers delivered for his team with 2 assists.

During the first, Mcdermott opened the scoring for Wisconsin with a goal at 3:02 with helpers from his linemates, Marshman and Hanson. Grobstick put in a goal at 12:44 with helpers from teammates Steines and Rogers.

In the second, Hempel put the RiverWolves on the board with a goal at 8:50 with an assist from Johnston.

In the third, Pinkert scored a goal at 0:15 with a helper from Alton. Grobstick answered for the Whalers with a goal at 8:59 with an assist from defenseman Day. Steines quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:15 with helpers from Grobstick and Rogers. Hrebik answered for the RiverWolves with a goal at 14:16. Grobstick quickly followed with a goal at 15:57 with an assist from his linemate Cross.
