(Wausau, WI) – The Wausau Cyclones are pleased to announce the promotion of Assistant Coach Jake Minch. Along with continuing to be the Cyclones assistant coach, he will take on the role of Assistant General Manager of Hockey Operations. Minch is in his second season with the organization and helped lead the team to a postseason berth in their inaugural campaign.  Minch is a native of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

“Jake is someone who has worked tirelessly to make this organization better over the past two seasons. We are thrilled to promote him to this position because he has earned it. We know he will continue to work with Nathan advance our current players to the next levels and to recruit skilled, high character, motivated players for the future,” stated Cyclones Hockey Ownership.

“Jake is an integral part of our day-to-day hockey operations, on and off of the ice. He brings a relentless work ethic and passion while continuing to grow as a coach every single day. As an organization we feel this is the next step in his development, one that he has truly earned and deserves. His guidance, knowledge, and support was essential for me personally while I was making the transition to Wausau. I am very grateful and excited to be working with Jake as we continue to build a championship culture on and off the ice,” stated Head Coach & General Manager of Hockey Operations Nathan Oystrick.
