(WAUSAU, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves will begin the 2021 year by facing a familiar opponent by taking on the Rochester Grizzlies this evening. This will by the third consecutive home game versus the top team in the NA3HL. Wausau came up short back in their last matchup back on December 18th by a 5-2 score.  Puck drop is set for 7:10 pm at the Marathon Park Ice Arena.

What to Watch For

Wausau will be looking for forward Kasey Couture to return to his 2019-20 form as they return from the holiday break. Couture led the RiverWolves in goals a year ago with 15 goals, but has tallied just one in eleven games this season.

Rochester is lead by forward Peyton Hart. Hart averages 1.17 points per game and has 13 goals and 8 assists so far on the year. Back on December 18th versus Wausau he netted a goal and three assists.

Between the Pipes

Joseph La Forge, native of Kenosha, WI is expected to start Saturday in net. La Forge has turned back 354 of 401 shots so far this year for an 88.3% save percentage.

The Grizzlies are expected to start Shane Soderwall in net this weekend. Soderwall is a native of Algonquin, IL.
