(WAUSAU, WI)- The RiverWolves (1-1-0-0) are back in action tonight as they head to the Ozaukee Ice Center in Mequon to take on Central Division foe in the Milwaukee Power (1-3-0-0) for a two-game weekend series. The first puck drops at 7pm tonight and Saturday night on HockeyTV. The RiverWolves are coming off a 2-0 win vs the Oregon Tradesmen and are looking to start a division winning streak before coming back home next weekend for a series with Peoria.

Home Cookin’

The local Central Wisconsin talent on the RiverWolves roster has shined in the early going of the 2020-21 campaign. RiverWolves forward Max Beste netted a goal vs the Oregon Tradesmen that landed him number three on the NA3HL plays of the week for the week of October 5th-10th. Isaac Wickersheim was also named to the NA3HL Honorable Mention for the week after scoring in his second consecutive game. Beste is a native of Mosinee, while Wickersheim hails from Antigo.

The Milwaukee Power are looking to bounce back after a 4-2 loss to the St. Louis Jr. Blues last weekend in St. Louis. Milwaukee is led by defenseman Mason Ausmus, from Saline, MI, who has 4 points in 4 games, including a shootout game winner vs Peoria.

Between the Pipes

Joseph La Forge, native of Kenosha, and Gunnar Snyder, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, are expected to share time in the net for this two-game series. La Forge recorded a perfect 55-save shutout vs the Tradesmen in route to a 2-0 victory last time out to earn him the Central Division Star of the Week from the NA3HL. La Forge has turned back 91 of 99 shots so far this year for a 91.9% save percentage.

Snyder brings a veterans presences as this season is his fourth in the NA3Hl.  He has played in 28 games and has a 14-7 record as a starter with 7 shutouts.

The Power are expected to have a combination of Zach Piehl and Petr Mehall in net Friday and Saturday.
