Wausau, WI-  The RiverWolvces travel to Evansville, Indiana to face the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts for a three game weekend series starting tonight at 7 p.m. from Swonder Ice Arena.  Back in October the RiverWolves swept Evansville in a three-game series winning 12-1, 12-2 and 3-0.

What to Watch For

Look for Evansville to come out swinging as they try to get their first victory of the season in game number 24 of the year for the Thunderbolts.   Evansville comes into this weekend’s action with the worst score differential in the league at -253.  Expect a lot of pucks heading towards Thunderbolts goaltender Noah Brandeau’s way as he has faced more rubber on him than Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Brandeau has faced an incredible  1,016 shots in 15 games played.

Between the Pipes

The three-game series means both teams are expected to use multiple goalies. Evansville is projected to go with either Tennessee native, Noah Brandeau or Ohio native Tyler Dorion.  In 15 games this year, Brandeau is 0-11 with a 12.99 goals against average.  His save percentage sits at .836.  Through 7 starts, Dorion is 0-7 with a save percentage of .854.  His goals against average is at 11.01.

Wausau is expected to have Alexandr Gilev out of Krasnoobsk, Russia spend time in net and Terran Mohr of Lakeville, Minnesota. Gilev has compiled a 4-9-1 record over his 14 starts.  Gilev has a 4.09 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.
