Wausau, WI- The Wausau RiverWolves play host to the Coulee Region Chill tonight at 5 p.m. from Marathon Park Ice Arena.  On Friday night the RiverWolves suffered a 2nd period meltdown as Peoria scored three goals in just over four minutes. That 2nd period sealed their fate in a 7-0 defeat. The loss dropped the RiverWolves record to 5-12-1.

What to Watch For

Look for Wausau to play with a sense of urgency tonight as they try to break a four- game losing streak.  Deniss Berdniks has been a bright spot recently as he has two goals in his last four games.

Brady Lindauer and Thomas Magnavite are the top two point getters for the Chill.  Lindauer comes in with a team lead 30 points while Magnavite is close behind with 25.  Magnavite has scored the most goals so far with 16 while Lindauer has 11. Weston, WI native Matt Janke who was recently acquired from the Great Falls Americans will be playing his second game with his new team.

Between the Pipes

Coulee Region is expected to start either La Crosse, WI native Gunnar Snyder or Luke Weberg from Omaha, NE.  Snyder has made three starts for the Chill so far this year compiling a 1-1 record with a 2.27 goals against average.  He has a save percentage of .901.  Weberg has started two games going 1-1 with a .914 save percentage.  His goals against average sits at 2.50.

The Chill recently had its original starting goaltender Devin Naidow called up to play for the NAHL’s Chippewa Steel. The Grosse Point, Michigan native was in his second season in the NA3HL.

Wausau is expected to send out goaltender Alexandr Gilev for the start Sunday.  He has started 13 games for the RiverWolves going 4-8-1 to date.  He brings along a 3.83 goals against average with a .908 save percentage.
