WAUSAU, WI – The Wausau RiverWolves prepare for yet another Central Division match up as the Peoria Mustangs visit for a weekend series beginning tonight from Marathon Park Ice Arena.    Currently the RiverWolves hold a 3-7 record heading into play tonight, good for 6th in the Central Division.

The Mustangs will rely on strong performances from forward duo’s Tristan Trudel and Jack Radley.  Both forwards have 21 points Trudel with 12 goals and nine assists. Radley  comes into the weekend series with 10 goals and 11 assists. Trevor Smith is expected to start for the Mustangs in goal.  He currently holds a 5-5 record with a .918 save percentage.  He earned the win in the shootout for with the Coulee Region Chill last weekend.

The RiverWolves will continue to rely on Mitch Idalski and Rollie Carlson offensively.  The pair have contributed offensive fire power to the RiverWolves scoring with each having 15 points.  Idalski in 10 games has recorded 8 goals and seven assists.  Carlson has recorded 3 goals and 12 assists for the  RiverWolves.

The RiverWolves welcome Deniss Berdniks via trade from New Ulm Steel for Garrett Alton.  Native of Riga, Latvia, Berdniks recorded 2 goals and 5 assists in eleven games for the Steel so far this season.  He’s expected to make his RiverWolves debut tonight.

Alex Gilev will between the pipes on Friday.  Gilev holds a 2-3 win-loss record and a .906 save percentage.  The last time out, Gilev held the Wisconsin Whalers to four goals saving 50 out of 54 shots.

Tonight’s game is presented by GI Associates. The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation will be holding a silent auction and 50/50 raffle at the game, which will benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
